After Australian skier Oddy Graham's win in the Ski competition on Monday, Martin Cernik, 26, of the Czech Republic won the snowboarding stage of Australia's premier freestyle big air event yesterday. Skidoo snowmobiles were used to tow contestants downhill into the jump at up to 80km/h. The specially constructed tombstone kicker is the biggest jump ever built in Australia.
Graham took the skiing title ahead of Japan's Makoto Kondo, 36, who recovered from snapping a ski on his fourth jump. Australian Andrea Berchtold, 23, came third. Graham's massive switch rodeo 540, a twisted off-axis spinning move, was the highest scoring single jump of the event.
The Red Bull Air Raid is Australia's most
prestigious big air freestyle skiing event, drawing a 24-strong
invitation-only field and a total of $20,000 in prize money.
Due to the remote location and importantly, for the protection of the National Park environment, the Red Bull Air Raid is a non-spectator event. However, you can keep up-to-date with all the action on the official website Mail

Czech
superstar Cernik won the snowboarding stage of the event this afternoon
with a massive switch 900 double grab. Australian Nick Gregory,
20, shared second place with New Zealander Dylan Butt, 26.
"To
win today was definitely one of the highlights of my career,"
said Graham. "I really feed off pressure, and I knew I'd be
able to step it up.The jump was beautiful, just perfect."
