The idea of creating Freeski Britain was conceived by Warren Smith and developed by himself and fellow freeskiers Chris Fecher and Sandy Trust. Run by the UK's most passionate freeskiers, Freeski Britain will provide information via its website on the sport, as well as raising money to support athletes. Warren Smith told Natives the reasoning behind the organisation: "The sport of skiing has undergone massive change and growth in the last 5 years due to freeskiing. It is Freeski Britain's aim to promote re-investment into the core areas of the sport from organisations that have benefited from that growth." A long term aim is to encourage the pure spirit and freedom of freeskiing whilst developing a strong professional base which will increase the long term viability of present and future Freeski professionals, events and media. Warren Smith is known for his freeskiing
clinics, ski movies and as organiser of the Verbier Ride (also Britain's
official freeskiing championships). This summer he and a number
of other freeriders organised a highly successful freeski
summer camp in Tignes. Mail
