CARDRONA SNOW UPDATE

9 August 2002

12-20cm of new snow Sunday has set us up for a great week. Dry winter snow over the entire mountain. Today is a bit scruffy with a few more centimeters of snow being added to the snow pack as this is being sent out. Currently 100% coverage, all main runs being groomed daily with an average packed base of between 40-80cm.

Wanaka Snowfest kicks off this weekend and to help you celebrate look out for the Barcardi Breezer snow bar at Captain's pizzeria for the next week.

Looking ahead the RAGE kicks off tomorrow with the Corona Bullrush and Hoon. There will be some limited closures in Arcadia as skiers and boarders dash for the cash.

Saturday Jagermeister presents the Mountain Bikes on snow. Gravity cross and long jump event. Studded tires are the norm and visitors will get a great view of this form of carnage from MacDougall's chair. Sunday concludes with the one-hit wonder in the Superpipe.
