In an interview with American magazine, Ski Press, Plake, the star of 'Blizzard of Ahhs' and 'Fistful of Moguls', discussed his influence on the current freeride scene and its current stars. "They usually tell me some sort of story involving my influence on them. Then I tell them how I couldnt be who I am without the support of guys like them," Plake said. He then pointed out the success of the recent movie about the history of skateboarding 'Dog Town and Z-Boys'. "Its all about the people who started a competition series that basically turned into the XGames. They all have their heroes, and the heroes have their heroes." I think we could do a movie like that in skiing, starting with the beginnings of hot dog skiing. I mean why keep renaming it, its all hot dog skiing, invented and still dominated by North Americans. There needs to be a movie about the contributions of North American skiing." Watch this space.
