Just another great week in what is shaping up to be a great season. Snow has been very light and squeaky. It really is soft snow on a soft base. Fantastic for the ego, just make sure you've waxed your gear so you slide! The 'Kids Park' continues to grow with record numbers of kids this week in lesson programs. An igloo is presently taking shape to add to the tunnels and bumpy trails. The entire Superpark is starting to charge with jumps and rails appearing and growing bigger daily. The Johnny Superpipe is getting fantastic reviews as it is ridden in. International pipe is also open and the Rookie will open for camps next week. The Burton Jam last Saturday was a huge affair with about 45 riders and several hundred spectators. Held in the Johnny Superpipe it was an eye opener for many riders visiting from around New Zealand. The ETA Snowdeck jam went so well in the morning that the Snowdeck Park has been properly fenced off and will remain a permanent feature - the first in Australasia. Check the pics out. Looking ahead not a lot on except for great skiing and riding. First timers are finding the conditions perfect, so soft and dry combined with wide slopes. The Volkl Vertical hoon is on the 28th July and that will provide some high-speed spectator action. Quite unlike any other event! That's it for this week. Hope you all have a chance to get close to the snow over the next few weeks. Keep up to date with the web cam [Report from Nigel Kerr]
