TOP 20 FOR CARRICK-ANDERSON

21 February 2002

Carrick AndersonLong awaited fresh snowfall on the slalom piste in Deer Valley lead to challenging conditions for today¹s Women¹s Slalom (20/2/02).

From a start number of 42nd Carrick-Anderson (26, Edinburgh) had moved up to 27th place after the 1st run. Unfortunately Alcott (19, Hove), starting later, failed to complete the first run, joining almost 50% of the field to record a DNF over the 2 runs.

In the 2nd run in equally testing conditions, Carrick-Anderson raised her performance to 19th place, recording her best ever special slalom result in 4 Olympic Games.

Graham Bell, Performance Director said, 'We are delighted with another solid result from the Alpine Team. So far we have posted three results in the top 20 in Alpine competition, which is very encouraging.'
