Snow News
The first snow of the season
started on the 8th November, and seemed to last about a week!
And some moments it was snowing heavily - like big chunks.
After October being one of the warmest months in something
like 30 odd years or so, I think we can safely say goodbye
to 20ºC day time temperatures and say hello to night
time temperatures in the minus figures. All the ski stations
have got their snow cannons blasting out snow to mix in with
what's falling naturally and create a good base, which should
stand us on good ground for the start of the season at the
beginning of December.
Arinsal and Pal confirmed that as of 17/11/01
there was 45cm+ on the lower slopes and a staggering 120cm+
on the upper slopes! How's that to the start of the season!
They may even open up a week early!!
No Smelly Socks
Arinsal's latest additions also include something invaluable
to the likes of reps, workers and holiday makers alike. Immediately
next door to one of Arinsal's many shops, Island Style, you'll
now find a laundry and dry cleaners! Sketchleys has got nothing
on these guys! This season, you've got no excuse to wear the
same smelly old T-shirts and socks for the week (or even for
the season!). You can now get them washed, dried and ironed
for you!
Arinsal's Newest Bar
Now that you can do apres-ski smelling sweetly, perhaps
you'd like to check out Arinsal's newest bar - Blazing Saddles
Western Saloon. Possibly the 3rd largest bar in Arinsal, you'll
find it immediately next door to the Red X Bar and Borda Callissa
Indian restaurant. Still undergoing its finishing touches,
they've provided a description of what the bar is going to
be. For more info click
here.
New Lifts
Down in La Massana, work is well
underway on the foundations and infrastructure for a new cable
car between La Massana and Pal ski station, Pas de la Casa
will soon boast a bright and shiny tunnel to the border which
will make airport transfers more comfortable than before.
Ski Resort Info
Details of the new bits 'n pieces in Arinsal and Pal sectors,
lift pass prices, lessons, kids stuff, etc plus details of
all the ski resorts in Andorra have been updated and can be
