ALPE D'HUEZ BAR UPDATE

22 October 2001

The great news for all those returning to Alpe d'Huez (or discovering it for the first time) is that this year there are two new bars to check out.

Alpe d'Huez already has a great selection of bars, but the addition of the 'Sphère Cafe Bar' and 'Lily Muldoons' will strengthen the resort's party town reputuation.

Lily Muldoons will be the resort's first Irish theme pub, with a focus on live music and serious fun. Brainchild of CdS members Steve Collier and Scott Coxhall, the pub is part of a new business called Synergy Extreme.

Lily MuldoonsThe property, previously known as the Caribou Hotel, is being redeveloped and the bar will include regular live music, a shooters bar and Murphys.

The hotel will also be the accommodation for the tour operation side of the business which offers ski holidays that include parapenting, microlites and hang-gliding.

Information on the Sphere Cafe Bar is sketchy, but we do know that it will be located just in front of 'The Crowded House' , at the top of the Avenue des Jeux (the one with the ice rink and outdoor swimming pool). The 'Sphère' plans to offer the best in drink and music plus fast, secure Internet access.
