COURCHEVEL 1850 BAR NEWS

17 October 2001

Steve Dunsire from TJ’s, Blue Bar and Gringo’s in Courchevel 1850 has been busy over the summer. Not only has he been learning French, but he reports a new team in place for this winter.

TJ’s is a massively popular ski/boarding bar in the centre of town. It's one of the homes of Courchevel's famous theme nights, various cocktail/shooter nights and is the general heart of the resort.

Gringo’s is 150 yards up the hill, next door to the Skiworld clubhotel, the Auberge. Last year it became a keen favourite of workers seeking to replace the long lost Equipe. It will again be home to the famous 10 shot challenge as well as Mutzig!! Steve claims it is the cheapest place to drink in resort. We look forward to putting that one to the test!

The Blue Bar (formerly known as the Isba) and located under the Ski Val Hotel Isba is a great kick-back bar, with lots of comfy chairs, pool table, and table football etc. It's a good place to change the pace, chat and catch up with other workers. This year, the cable and three screens, will also make it the sporting centre of town.

The three bars are public bars for anyone, but they put a high value on the mountain staff and try to look after them all the time. All bars do special staff prices.

There will also be a number of theme nights, where everyone dresses up, parties and goes mad. If you want to score, make sure you bring out fancy dress, then just wear your gear and the force will be with you!

Amongst the nights to look forward to are the Beach Party, 70’s, PPP (pimps, porn stars and prostitutes), Back to School and Bad Taste night. Then there's Blind Date, with Ms Slutty Black (Mr Simon Hooper), 'Who wants to be a Drunken Bastard?' and more!

Steve briefs us on the 2001-2002 crew

We have returning the famous, Mr Oliver Beilby, the pup is sharp, fast and you ladies will get to know him !!

Mr Tim Burdett, the bother of the famous Mike (Gringo’s and the Jump), but we wont hold it against you, as long as you can ski as straight and as fast as him.

Mr Justin Crouch, snow boarder extraordinaire. Otherwise know as Dog !!! (Up to you to find out why?)

Ms Sally Hepworth, blond, northern and definitely one to watch as the season progresses!!!!!!!

Mr Phillip le Blond, a man I hear with no fear, who could be the new Freeride kid ??

Ms Liz Burchell the floating trouble shooter of the bars with that party feel and that party mind!!

And finally Mr Steve (Calamity, Pete -Tong, Rhino, Accidental can anyone lend me some skis) Dunsire himself.

Catch up with them all this winter for another great season in Courchevel 1850.
