It's only six weeks until the first of the ski shows and from then on it's every weekend through to mid-November, which is near as, dammit, to that season itself.

6-7 October, The Southern Snow Show
Calshot Activities Centre, Southampton

The warm-up event should see about 5000 visitors to check out the two dry slopes, with all the action covered in live broadcasts by Wave Radio.


12-14 October, The Ski & Snowboard Show
Nationsl Exhibition Centre, Birmingham

Established in 1987 with over 14,000 visitors last year, this is the first of the biggies. Watch out for Natives at the Show on Stand 188. There's a special gift for all Natives who know the secret password *, plus we'll have our new Natives tops for this winter on sale for the first time.


20-21 October, The Brighton Snow Show
Grandstand Halls, Brighton Racecourse

Now in its third year, this show has improved again with a move to the modern grandstand halls with free parking facilities. Check it out in Britain's newest city.

26 October - 4 November, The Daily Mail Ski and Snowboard Show
London Olympia

The Daddy of the ski shows and the 'official start to the ski season' (according to our poll). We'll feature everything you need to know about the DM Show here on Natives, from who won the Big Air (bigger and better this year) to how to get there, on where the best bargains are to where the reunions will be. We have 40 tickets to win to see the show.

And talking of partying, Saturday 3 November is going to be a big night with the Natives Ski Show Workers Party. There's bubbly and skis to be won, and of course the band - Superfly - playing live for your pleasure. Tickets available by ringing the Natives hotline on 08700 463355.

9-11 November, Board-X 2001
Battersea Park, London

The sixth Board-X is going to be bigger and better than ever. Check out the early details and watch out for info on how to win free tickets coming to Natives during October.
