BUSC SUMMER CAMP - TIGNES 2001

7 August 2001

Skoola on a 540 muteThe first-ever BUSC Summer Freestyle Camp took place last month in Tignes, under the expert coaching of the Warren Smith Academy.

The event was a great success with two of the 'graduates' going straight to the Snozone Big Air, where they took 1st (Gav Carruthers) and 2nd (Skoola) in the Amateurs.

This report on the week comes from Big Gay Al (aka Al MacDonald of Bristol Uni):

'Gnarly, mute 3, switch and butt naked boy are just a few examples of the unusual vocabulary litering the conversations of a new breed of buscateer 'The Freestyler'.

Where was this new breed conceived and brought screaming into this world? At the BUSC Summer Freestyle Camp in Tignes of course.

skoola on a 360 muteNed Ned the rubber man, skoola and 'six stiches' Cartlidge were just a few of the nu skool boys willing to risk anything (even the greatly feared tag of 'Punter') to excel in the back country and board park, and with exceptional coaching from the Warren Smith academy few people left without a full quiver of sick jumps.

So if you is looking to break onto the pro tour or just fancy rocking around in the park the BUSC summer camp is where it is at. For those in the know (especially the ladies) my only excuse was that it was very cold….'
