OLYMPIC TICKETS STILL ON SALE

13 July 2001

Reports have come in from Salt Lake City another 200,000 tickets have became available for next year's Winter Olympics.

Although all tickets had apparently sold out, some of the seats were made available when corporate sponsors or foreign Olympic committees didn't snap up their full entitlements. The organising committee also added other tickets after deciding seats would not be obscured by TV cameramen..

Most of the tickets are for qualifying or preliminary rounds, with the main sports available being bobsled, luge, ice hockey, figure skating, speedskating, snowboarding, ski jumping, biathlon and the ever popular curling

As an indication of the relative popularity of the opening or closing ceremonies to, say, curling, tickets for the former are going at $885 and for the latter at $35.
