THE RED BULL EXTREME 2001
2 April 2001

After delays due to extreme weather conditions, the Red Bull Xtreme finally took place at Verbier on Saturday.

The event, now in its 6th year, saw some of the world's best freeride snowboarders compete on the 'Bec des Rosses.

The Women's event was won by Swiss rider Ruth Leisibach, who came back from second place after the first run. Austrian Mitch Tolderer won the Men's event in a close run contest against Jarkko Henttonen of Finland.
