| THE MILTON KEYNES SNODOME - ANY GOOD? |

The Milton Keynes (MK) Snozone has 3 slopes, 2 the full 170M length both serviced by their own Poma lifts and a beginners slope which is approximately 2/3rd's (110M) in length serviced by a travelater.
The maximum number of people allowed to access the slopes at any one time is 250. I have only been on the slopes when there was a maximum of 100 people and think that 250 people would feel over-crowed, creating long lift queues and would make the experience frustrating. The MK Snozone is located only 50 miles from London and therefore very accessible either via the M1 motorway or the main Euston to Birmingham railway. There is ample free parking. What is different form the Tamworth Snow Dome? The snow for a start, the quality is very good, it's soft and powdery. There are a few hard patches but no ice. If you go on the slopes when they have just been groomed then you will get the best conditions. The lighting also gives the MK Snozone a natural feel. Up-lighting is reflected throughout the slopes using mirror lenses (and white walls) therefore minimising shadows. The price, well it's not cheap at £15 per hour off-peak and £20 per hour peak time. This includes ski / snowboard / boot hire if required. Lessons start from £25 per hour. You can also hire a ski suite for an additional £4. You will need to take a £1 coin with you to use the lockers, this is refunded when you unlock the locker. As you book-in you asked for a time you would like to start using the slope and then issued with a smart-card. This usually gives you 10-20 mins to get changed and geared up. The Cafe, yes there is an over priced cafeteria bar where you can chill-out afterwards. This is freely accessible to anyone so your non ski bum friends and family can watch your while you ski or surf. I would recommend the MK Snozone to anyone, especially to those wishing to learn how to ski or snowboard or for anyone wishing to brush up on their techniques before they head out to the mountains. Finally, see if you can spot the Natives
