Killington have started up their snowcannons already - following up on the $5m investment of the last few years.

 

Loveland in Colorado has also started up the snowcannons (pictured right) to back up their intention to be the first ski area in the States to open.

 

However, yesterday it looked like they had lost out to Boreal in California after a fresh snowfall of 30cms. Boreal broke all records with their 12 October opening date.
