Snozone will open to the public 9am
this Monday, 2nd October 2000.

This news may shock anyone
who has been following the long running saga surrounding
the opening of Britain's second Snow Dome, delayed from
May, to June, to July etc
The project has certainly had its
problems. In July a spokesman told us the problem was the
'wrong type of snow'. Since then we have heard of construction
problems, snowgun problems, health and safety issues. Earlier
this month, White Lines magazine reported that some of the
intra-snow pipes were broken by a piste basher and this
had caused some of the delays to the opening.
The official spin is that this is
the first and only official date that has ever been released
by Healthland, the company who run the slope. This
does discount the numerous other dates that have been fed
in press releases by Xscape (the larger complex the slope
is in) itself.
Whatever the reasons, it's definite
(-ish) that it will open this Monday. And the news is -
it's good!!! Duncan Worrell from The Boarder had a sneak
preview the other day and rates it 10 out of 10, even with
200 people on the slope. Time to get in some practice!
