Review: Liberty Sequence 2014

Two weeks of no bookings, glorious sunshine and empty pistes. Only down side is with all the dietary needs I've had (gluten free, Veggi etc.,) and food going out of date cos I'm empty or not full (one week only a couple), I'm going to really struggle to make budget and just have to hope my final week of the season fills.

Big White - don’t let the Australians have all the fun!

Big White Ski Resort is currently celebrating it’s 50th season and is the 4th largest ski area in Canada. It’s situated just 35 miles from the city of Kelowna in the heart of British Columbia, Canada. It has a consistent supply of dry snow, locally referred to as Okanagan champagne powder, which results in large formations of snow and ice caked onto the trees known as ‘tree ghosts’. The area is one of the best in BC for bad weather due to the high treeline which offers a break from the weather that brings over 300 inches of snow a year; it’s no wonder ‘It’s the snow’ is the resorts’ slogan.

January 2014, and we were lucky enough to get our mitts on a 2015 Salomon Gypsy, fresh from the wrap for a week's test in Morzine. Three months later, and the Gypsy winked at me from the corner of the More Mountain test centre on the Subvert Boardstore Slushy.
