How to find a yacht job

By adamrowden, 20 Jul '12 at 09:38

Ok, so you have been working a winter season and have found out all about working on a yacht. Well, some seasonaires like to go home and get a dead-end job between seasons, others stay in resort and pick up odd jobs, some like to go back to the UK and work the festival circuit playing around in the mud. And, some like to head on down to the Mediterranean and work on a yacht.

This job is not as glamorous as it sounds, although it is far more shiny and upmarket than selling ice cream at Glastonbury. You will have to be prepared to work very hard to earn your wage, which can end up being quite a large amount. Also, depending on the generosity of the owner of said yacht, you can also end up walking away with a substantial tip come the end of the summer.

You will have to be well presented, hard working and have good attention to detail. If a rich yacht owner is paying a large amount for your services they will want to ensure that they are getting their money’s worth.
