| A number of companies will look to employ staff for the peak season weeks alone. They will require more staff when their workload increases in the busier weeks, which tend to be during Christmas and New Year as well as the February half-term and April. |

These seasonaires are like the worker ants in the nest, but without the ability to carry 100 times their own weight, and if you don’t mind hard work, partying and mountains, then this might just be the perfect job for you.

Chalet hosting roles vary from company to company but most of them will see you working closely with a chalet chef to help with providing your guests with cracking food and caring for them whilst they are staying with you. Or, if there is no chalet chef, then you will be responsible for the running of the chalet and cooking the meals.

| One of the most sought after roles within a ski resort is the role of bar staff. Working as a bar manager or supervisor in a hotel bar is good fun, but the best jobs in resort are based in small privately owned bars. The places where everyone hangs between sessions on the mountain, and the places where everyone parties after the lifts close. |

| If you are hardworking, patient and good with people, then you may just make a good resort rep. If you are lacking any of these three key elements then please, don’t take on this role, you may end up seriously harming a punter. |

| This is quite possibly the most fun job in resort, and it certainly has the best name (insist on being called a plongeur and refuse to answer to KP, kitchen assistant or anything else) of all the roles you can get. |

Wherever you get a large hoard of people turning up for a holiday, you are always going to need a decent sized childcare team. And things are no different in the Alps or in any ski resort. Being a nanny in a ski resort is very demanding, but it can be extremely fun and rewarding and, if you are a qualified nanny or you have childcare experience then you will be more than capable of carrying out your duties.

| We have been asked many a question over the years, some we have only heard once, ‘Is it possible to make a pair of skis out of a snowboard?’ for example, and the utterly ludicrous; ‘Are the Alps in North or South America?’ However, some other questions we tend to hear on a regular basis. |
