The Remarkables is a ski resort with a relaxed atmosphere and some cracking dedicated learning facilities. It is a great place for beginners to go riding and is especially great if you are going on a trip with the whole family. The resort offers you all day supervised kids’ programmes that are available for children as young as three months.
This resort is located just 45 minutes from Queenstown and it features a truly fantastic network of slopes that can cater for almost everyone. The resort can get quite crowded at peak times, but it is not half as bad as some of the more crowded French resorts during Half Term.
It is a brilliant place for beginners with its friendly instructors and The Remarkables also boasts some of New Zealand’s best beginner slopes.
When it comes to having plenty of fun, The Remarkables has three terrain parks and one awesome superpipe. The Up and Go Terrain Park, located at the top of the Sugar Bowl Chairlift has large jumps, rails, boxes and kickers. It hosts national freestyle events throughout the winter season.
And, the Fruju Beginner Park, that is situated on the Turquoise Trail, plays host to some nice small rails and boxes that are perfect for learning on.
