** GET INSPIRED FOR THE BEST IN MOUNTAIN FILM, ADVENTURE, ENVIRONMENT & CULTURE **
The Kendal Ski and Board Night (21 November) at the Kendal Mountain Festival (20-23 November) promises to be a fantastic evening with an eclectic mix of ski and board, film and lecture, all spiced up with appearances from top snowsports athletes.
The night plays out in two halves: at 5.30pm the night will be opened by Graham Bell of Ski Sunday. From then until 7.15pm we feature the very best in this year’s ski and boarding films, and an appearance by Neil McNab, mountain guide, champion snowboarder and all-round action man.
At 7.15pm we pause to catch our breath (and a drink), before kicking off part two at 8.30pm. The main feature of 2008’s Ski and Board night is Rémy Lécluse. Rémy is a Chamonix-based professional mountain guide specialising in steep descents, by which he means pitches over 50 degrees - eek. In his 21-year career he has skied over 500 steep descents, including 50 first descents in the Alps, Atlas, Lyngen Alps, Himalaya and Andes. And he's one of the few guides to take clients with him, occasionally .
Make your first tracks this winter to Kendal and book you tickets now at www.mountainfilm.co.uk or call 01539 725133.
