Jake Carpenter, founder of Burton and godfather of snowboarding, made 100 prototypes before settling on his production snowboard, overcame $100,000 of dept and faced rejection from Aspen because "the skiers complained". Now look him and Burton - dedication, perseverance and passion won through, and the world's a better place for it.
