The dates for the 2012 Winter X Games have been announced as excitement is growing for one of the top events of the snowsports’ calendar.
Live coverage The Winter X Games 16 will be held in Aspen, Colorado, from January 26th to January 29th 2012, whilst the Winter X Games Europe 2012 will be held from March 14th to March 16th in Tignes, France.
Athletes from all over the world will be competing for medals and prizes in snowboarding, snowmobiling and skiing. More than 125 athletes will complete in Tignes, whilst 200 will take to the slopes in Aspen for the flagship X Games event.
Both X Games events will be broadcast live on the ESPN network, and of course, you’ll be able to get the latest X Games news here on Natives.
The 2012 X Games is the last year that the competition will consist of two games. As announced last month, the X Games is to expand from two to six games in 2013. Tignes and Aspen will still host events and Los Angeles has also been granted a place. The last three venues are yet to be decided via a competitive bidding process beginning next year.
