Shaun White wins Gold at Winter X Games with perfect round

Would you be seen dead snowboarding in leopard-print leggings? No, of course not, although, actually, once I did go snowboarding in leopard-print leggings and a bright pink dress, but that was in  a fancy dress charity event called the Squirrel Race in Plan Peisey. Anyway, what I meant to say is, would you be seen dead snowboarding in leopard-print leggings when not in fancy dress? No, of course not!

No leopards were harmed in the making of this article
Well, Shaun White competed in the final of the Winter X Games Superpipe wearing... You guessed it: Leopard-print leggings. And he only went and won the gold medal, again. This was White’s fifth consecutive Winter X Games gold medal and this time round, he did it in style. When I say style I am not talking about his horrendous choice of attire, I am talking about the fact that he managed to rack up a perfect score.

His final run in the Superpipe final in Aspen, in front of a huge crowd, was perfect in the eyes of the judges and he managed to notch a sweet 100 to win the top prize.

Even though he had a fall on an earlier run, White pulled off back-to-back double McTwist 1260s to nail his place on the top of the podium.

In second place was Iouri Podlatchikov, who thought that his run was his best ever, however, it still scored a mere 93 points. The bronze medal went to Japanese prodigy Ryo Aono.

Let’s just hope we don’t see an overabundance of leggings on the slopes.
