Hi, any tips or info for the workaseason chalet host interview? What do they ask you? Especially worried about the kitchen test, what do you have to do? Thanks!

You will need to be able to prepare a three course evening meal for any number of guests from 6 to 20, depending on the chalet. Also an afternoon cake and of course breakfast. Cleaning to a high standard is also required. If you do one of the cookery courses on offer, that will definately help. you will be working hard and at the start of the season long hours. It gets better but the start is always hectic and dammed hard work!! Every season staff always under estimate just how hard it is. Don't fall for the "we work hard & play hard" line. Believe me all employers underplay the harshness of the the work load.
IF you can go in with eyes wide open to this you can have a great time. Good luck!

Re. Your interview. Be honest! Don't claim to know more or able to do more than you can. Even if you do convince your interviewers it will come back to bite you.
These interviewers will see thousands of CV's and interview hundreds if not thousands of potential canidates every season and will have done seasons themselves so trying to pull the wool over their eyes will be niegh on impossible.
Demonstrate your cooking skills if you can, read up on the company, show your knowledge and honesty and integretity. Be open to potential other roles if offered, chalet hosts are not the only roles. Once again, Good Luck.
