#1  visiting friends in courchevel- how to get there?  19 Sep '05 at 21:50
Want to get out to Courchevel to visit some friends over New Year (yes i have no doubt that it will be ridiculously expensive, but thought would look into it)
I can only get 2 days off work so with national holidays and weekend i have a total of 5 days in which it get there, party, visit friends, ski and come back.
I need some advice on how best to do this, ie is it best to fly into geneva then train it to resort or ???? i am not 100% sure how to go about the whole thing, so any advice would be extremely helpful.
Thanks!

Personally i'd fly in direct on my lear jet

If your finances don't stretch that far i'd time the flights in with the public buses...

Don't want to be perdantic but you can't land a lear jet at the altiport it's not long enough.
As time is limited instead of using the train why not try a private transfer from the airport. If you email or pm me I will send you a contact number for a private transfer.

Think driving, if you can is the easiest option...... 12 hours or so!!! better than travel to airport, 1 or 2 hour checkin, 2 hour flights, 1 hour time difference, flaff in airport for half hour and 3 hours to resort. not that comparable - but might be cheaper....

otherwise ATS do shared transfers from GVA - cheaper than your own private transfer.........

Driving only compares for time if starting from near the ports - not so good from the North/Scotland.

Eurosar is probably best. 7 hours from London direct to right nect to 3V and then a cab ride up the hill

Only for the hoi-polloi types who can't afford the L500 with Harrier style jump-jet capabilities.....

on weekends only i think......
But could look into normal trains - Waterloo to Paris, and sure you can get to Moutiers on normal day trains then the public buses run up to Courchevel every hour or so!!!
