Hi All,

Having been a winter person for a while my knowledge of summer resorts is limited, hence I need help.

I get married next year and my wife to be has expressed some interest in going skiing , the problem is that the honeymoon is set for the first 2 weeks of May! Are there any resorts open for summer sking at this time either Europe or further a field? Most I have found don't open until June.

Thanks in advance!

Zermatt reckons to be open 365 days/year.

Thanks both.

Zermatt seems to be 365 days a year, except the 31 days of May according to there tourist site! I have emailed to check though.

Austria seems to be an option though, again I have emailed.

Keep em coming though!

Thanks again.

haybrd,

In May there will be plenty of accomodation available. Nobody knows now which resort/glacier will have the best snow early May 2006. I know it's your honeymoon but consider waiting till nearer the time before booking anywhere. Might be best to pick a hotel in each resort and follow the snow.

Out of the resorts that say 365 skiing, they certainly as DB says don't always mean it.... It will always depend on the season, and you just don't know!!! Late spring and autumn are hard to predict...

Breckenridge might still be open, or any of the other US resorts if you were open to going over there.

Think you are too early for Australia / NZ.

BUT summer skiing isn't a patch on winter skiing - usually only a few runs are open and only a few hours a day. You usuallly have to be up pretty early and think it is over by about 1pm generally....
