can't afford London transport so cycle a lot and have realised that i'm in a minority not wearing a helmet so it's time to finally swallow my fashion pride and bite the bullet...but am so skint i was wondering if i could kill 2 birds with 1 stone and find one that i can use on the slopes. thoughts/advice?

trust me you would sweat buckets using the G10 for riding..........I daresay you could use either for the other but seriously they're designed for very different purposes..

When cycling you sweat....the pads are removable and virtually the whole thing can go into the washing machine..

When skiiing it's cold....you need some warmth!!

The G10 looks too hot for commute riding to be honest.

You could buy a bike helmet for 20 quid so just buy one of those and a snow lid for about 40.

Why compromise when you can have 2 fit for purpose lids?

No! They have different constructions for different purposes (impact of crashes, no. of impacts in a crash etc). I don't know the intricacies, but they are made differently for a reason!

I recently bought a big Troy Lee helmet that's certified for snow-sports and downhill mountain biking. But it's full-face so possibly not the best for commuting..!

Halfords do helmets fo £10 that are certified CE kite-marked etc, so shouln't break the bank. Then you can get a tastey skiing one when you get to resort.
This is our decision to live fast and die young. We've got the vision, now let's have some fun.
Yeah it's overwhelming, but what else can we do? Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?
