i say if this can stop the odd few people smoking cause they get pissed off having to go outside all the time, its worth it. and if it stops people getting harmed by second hand smoke. Smoking tobacco is a seriously pointless thing to do...

The ban in bars etc doesn't apply until Jan/Feb 2008

How times change. It's only about 15 years since French bars were made to have a non-smoking area (usually the toilets!)
