how much is it?

will legal fees outweigh what you are getting back?

i'll try and answer everyone in one go
we are a husband and wife team who worked in val , my wife having completed 2 successful seasons with skival previously.
the chalet was in le fornet opposite the telepherique.
When we got back to blighty we were told to expect our deposits and retainers back at end of may. When june came, no money and no contact from skival. my wife contacted them and after some back and forth calls/emails etc we were told that our chalet had been over budget and there were "cleaning and maintenance" issues.
total value of monies retained was just over a grand.
we had kept a tally of the budget and we reckoned we were about 200 euros under, updates from the accountant and resort manager were, lets say, infrequent.
we successfully argued our case and in july we got our £600 retainers back. however, there were still these "cleaning and maintenance" issues which they have not fully explained.
the chalet was inspected in the second to last week of the season-no problems- and we got the personel manager who was helping to close down another val chalet to sign off the inventory and check the chalet. To quote her the chalet was "immaculate".
to rodent yeah we have known them to be a fair company to work for
to peds small claims court cost £50.

When the Ski Company went bust i was still owed about £400 of 'overtime' plus holiday pay. Not seen a bean, still this pales into insignificance to the amounts that local alpine businesses were owed. Its a real shame, and whats more, the untouchable directors (which liquidised the company) are able to move on and with no money lost only to set up under other guises. :crash:

Me too...but who was that directed at? Teaboy did say the personnel manager signed off on the chalet...

Nope.

I was in Courchevel for a while last season, but not for SkiVal...red's not my colour

I'm just interested in employment issues, and work (in London) in this kind of area now.
