They definately make good gear, but it does tend to be pricey. Even in the US it's hard to get much discount on North Face.
Time for my medication please nurse

as long as they are good cos being i just spent 200 notes on one i didn't really want to find some one say why the hell did you buy them there crap or something. (roll on theese replies now) wicked jacket though. i happend to make the mistake a few year back when i brought my snowboard and bindings and i brought drake bindings and instantly everyone said you mean brake. and no lie day one using the board they snapped. stupid

Given the majority of North Face jackets are shells I presume that's what you bought or was it one of the puffas?

no wouldn't buy a puffer. to big as it is and that would make me look huge. no its a shell and removable inner. very warm and thick. which can only be good for season when it gets bloody cold and i have to ski as "guests" will want to.

Well even though you may have to ski in 'guest' mode, just think ... at the end of the week they have to go back to work & you have weeks/months still to go ... don't remind them about this too many times though ... 8 or 10 times should be enough :P

Always looks pretty good - I have mates who swear by it - I have Mountain Equipment shell jacket which works very well but lacks some of the features of betty more expensive jackets like Helly ones.

That said its three years old now and needs a replacement. Was thinking of NF or Helly personally. Some good gear about these days iwth great features - seen jackets with pockets built into back to insert drinks bladders into to keep from freezing - just dont land heavily on your back....

I think stuff like built in ipod controls and headphone pouches int he collar are a bit stupid but thumb loops, skirts, decent raneg of storage pockets, proper waterproofing then all good.
Waiting for the winter.....

Got my North Face shell years ago and still love it...

Laughed in the face of a fair few blizzards with hood up and everything strapped tight
