[On an incredibly dull note - firm I work for has offices in MK, and from the company's POV it's considered part of their Midlands group. So jokes aside, I suppose it is...]

Also I can only turn right. So to mask my embarrassment, and the pain in my thighs, I ski only when very drunk. I can recommend this wholeheartedly." Jeremy Clarkson

Right, going to be really, really dull now. This is why MK was designed back in the early seventies (MK shopping centre was opened in 1979).

It is a superb location, sitting on the spine of the country the M1. It is still growing now, and his in some circles considered to be on the commuter belt of London.

And the planners have a penchant for roundabouts.

Like in Telford.

And Swindon...

They do!!! And roundabouts are brilliant, whenever I travel anywhere else (living very close to MK, I do alot of driving there) I boss them, annoying the locals by cutting through on the inside. If your not from MK be careful when you drive there at rush hour, coz if you dont go at a roundabout, when there is the slimmest opportunity, you will be pushed on by the following car!

It's all good fun.

hmm would have to agree about all these roundabout things. seem to be esp popular around new builds, i was perusing the whole bracknell area at the weekend and its all f**k**g roundabouts, its obviously a trait of middle england! and mk is not in the midlands nor the south there should be a whole new name for it, like the concrete monstrosity zone.
Once you've met Glen Plake, nothing quite seems as cool anymore.

There's something about that sentence that I find totally hilarious! Anecdotes such as these are much needed at work...

Guessing by 'Boss them', he's saying that he's the Daddy and rules those roundabouts!?!

I am the Daddy and do indeed rule the roundabouts!

Pity my insurance company does not think along the same line, infact they seem to take rather a dim view. :unimpressed:

Phrases.

Indeed you do need some good phrases at work. I like the adjective "Boss".

Try in a Bolton accent "not so bad"

Or just break out into a Manc accent, thats always super.

As a learner driver (getting on for 3 years now, haven't actually driven in over 2 though) and a cyclist I can assure you that roundabouts are in fact, S H I T! They're far too full of people like sammy doing crazy unpredictable things.

In my opinion they should be replaced by some sort of ticket system like at the deli counter at sainsburys, it'd be brilliant for everyone, especially cyclists who wouldn't have to wait.

Alright, I'd like to say that all eople with 3 letter forum names beginning with M, who've been heli skiing in NZ are twats with the social skills of a dead horse and should probably be banned from the internet in general, as well as sharp objects.

I've been busy ok! Working nights to pay for travelling, going travelling, being at uni and working in greece over last summer have left very little time for the unneccessary task of learning to drive! I'll get round to it when I need to, which may be some time.

I also get to feel morally superior in my status as an eco-friendly cyclist and train user compared to all you atmosphere polluting buggers.

No.

Possibly.

Chocolate. (the meat will be on the BBQ, and Chocolate is what the lady wanted, so that's what she gets)
