Moving to morzine for the winter season. Looking for people also heading out there, make friends and maybe share accomodation?. Have a job working for a Transfer company- have only skied once in feb12- for one week- also wanted to ask- should I hire ski gear when there or buy my own????
Any advice greatly received, also anyone also heading out there- talk to me!!!

You will love Morzine. It was where I had my first season and I loved it. Best place to go skiing is Ardent (no huge queues), by bus and get the lift straight up to Avoriaz. The bus ride is magical when the lake is frozen and so are the waterfalls.
There is a great wee shop in les Gets(over on the Pleney lift) where you can buy second hand equipment quite cheaply. It is along the main street just opposite the ski lifts. Good luck with your season.

Hey thanks Ingrid. I am looking forward to it, just skeptical and anxious about the living arrangements ha ha. But it will be good. Are you heading the this year.?

It is scary doing your first season....I was 54 when I did mine...but you will grow into the role. I have two offers so far one for Switzerland and the other for Chamonix. Loved Chamonix but want to try other places.

Morzine is very different from Chamonix. It doesn't have the 'hard-core' element or thrills that Chamonix has but there is definitely more of a party atmosphere. Have fun and take care.
