is my first season too but from what we've heard from people who have done it before you just wear jeans and a good top fpr nights out.

Where we are going we can have post sent to us and also we have 4 days training in Meribel but i'm not sure if everyone goes to this or not.

Hope thats of some help - we leave to go to Courchevel next Wednesday and i'm getting excited!!

It doesn't really matter what you wear on a night out!!!

On our days off, we would generally be in the pub from lifts closing, and then get home with skis etc about 5am the next morning. So salopettes are also fine to wear!!! (Ok, so that's kinda minging).

And seeing that you generally get home on your beer cloud, the beer jacket will keep you warm, you don't need to worry about clothes too much.

as for post, I wasn't in Courcheval, but had post sent to me no problem c/o the hotel.

of course you can get post!!
if you have an appartment you'll have an address for it (might have to nag the concierge for a while if you don't get a key for you letterbox) and if you live in the chalet you work in you can get post there. things might take a little longer to get there than they wold to paris (but i've had stuff arrived in 2 days before) and parcels generally have to be collected from the post office.
so your friends and family have no excuse not to send your christmas presents and cards and nice letters to you!

That's quite interesting as I arrive out on the 8th too to work in Meribel for MW. Wonder if you're staying at my hotel while you train?
