Is no one else excited that we've just won the ashes??? I thought there would have been some mention of it on here!

I've been glued to it all day and done none of the things I should have done!

Fantastic that we won but pissed off for several reason:

1) No telly at work

2) Busy day so couldn't pay proper attention to ball by ball commentry off the interweb

3) Could have got tickets i know off someone for 50 squid but couldn't (see work above)

4) work 2 hundred metres from the ground, saw all the dudes in england shirts while i trudged into the office

On the plus side

1) we won the sodding ashes...

2) suck on that fat boy!

3) Saw the final hour in a local pub! wahoo!

I was working with a wide screen telly on all day down the pub. It was reeeeeaaallly quiet so I basically watched it all day. Most of the Scottish punters were actually quite impressed you were winning and some even seemed pleased. Guess it is because we never play you at cricket.

I'd agree for any other sport, Molly, but not cricket.

But surely it's better than a nation of people called 'Brad' winning?
I've no interest in it whatsoever but I find it v amusing that as soon as it becomes popular again it's buggering off to Sky, so only the rich/stupid can watch it anyway and they're going to have to pay an Australian to do so.

I tihnk this leaves us with Wimbledon, the Grand National, Silverstone (which is getting axed anyway), and athletics on free TV..

Except those called Bruce or Sheila

Oh, and the women , of course.

I for one wasn't.

I'm braced for the unceasing boorish protestations of English patriotism.

Any sporting event that can be won whilst sitting on your ar$e in a changingroom drinking tea isn't really worth getting that worked up about.

A knighthood for Freddy anyone?

The parade just went past our office. Soo many people. We were all hanging out the windows...Fleet St was packed.

Lots of champagne on those 2 buses...some very happy faces aboard!

Ha, you're such a sheep! ;)

How many do you reckon? Liverpool saw 1million in May and that was just for one half a city's team, not a whole country's.

Baaa.

Yeah ok but it meant 10 mins not staring at a computer screen

On my street maybe 5 thousand? I've no idea. I can't count that high.
