I seem to remember there was a coach that ran from meribel to UK for about 60-70 quid, is there a similar sort of thing from Tignes?

Not sure, but you could always bail out in Moutiers and get train to Bourg St Maurice, then the Martin bus up to Tignes......... wouldn't cost much as train and bus pretty cheap..........

U can get the train from chamberry to or whereever to bourg if the feeling takes you,I was gonna but hired car in the end then dropped all me stuff off in tignes, drove back down to bourgh, then caught a bus back up to tignes. The bus isnt a lot, a taxi is about 35/40 quid tho from outside the train station if you miss the bus like I did a couple of times, either that or hitch,I gave a hitchhiker a lift down in the car and we came best of mates through it so if anything you'll make a friend, either that or pikey your way onto a tour operators bus.
