It'll be a bit odd for a few hours, and then you have to get used to the big hole in your gum.
Oh, and it's a good idea to have some ibuprofen ready for later today in case it's sore when the anesthetic wears off.
And don't drink anything tonight, or tomorrow's headache will be unbearable.
I post, therefore I am

look on the bright side - it's an excuse to eat lots of ice cream. you don't need to chew it and the cold has a numbing effect

Just the thread I need, currently hoping the pain at the back of my jaw will go away and that I don't need to make a dentists appointment.

Alright, I'd like to say that all eople with 3 letter forum names beginning with M, who've been heli skiing in NZ are twats with the social skills of a dead horse and should probably be banned from the internet in general, as well as sharp objects.

I had all four out in the chair at the same time and they gave me some great painkillers for afterwards. The next 40 hours or so was a blur.

Feeling the dissolving stitches pop was kind of fun, in a slightly sick way, but there was no pain.

I've had an ongoing battle with the dentist recently. Same tooth filled twice: first time, the filling partly fell out, second time, he overfilled it. Still in pain. Have been back twice. They've now decided I need a root canal. Earliest appointment is next Thursday. Brilliant. Another week of migraines and tiredness.

So, bring on jelly and all other soft mushy food!

do it do it do it!! i've been in pain for about 3 months and hoped it would go away, it didnt and truth is it would have come out easier if i'd have gone sooner as the tooth started to break up as she was taking it out. and all the fun only cost me 46 quid! AND a perfect excuse for excessive ice cream consumption!
