Board-X 2003
Prepare for the big freeze as snow falls on North London… Board-X is
back for it's seventh year and it's bigger and better than ever!
Avalanche at Alexandra
Palace
Board-X in association is returning to London's Ali Pali from 7-9 November,
with even more exciting attractions. This year's event will include
a brand new snow feature in the shape of an indoor real snow Grind Rail
Park. You can expect to witness riders jibbing all weekend on what promises
to be the latest addition to the UK's only dedicated snowboarding exhibition
and contest.
Once again, Europe's best
boarders will be pulling tricks against the backdrop of the capital
in the London Big Air. The show's outdoor feature offers a redesigned
ramp now measuring in at 24m high and 90m long - considerably higher
than last year. However, if you don't fancy watching the Big Air in
the cold outdoors, then you will be able relax inside at the 'frontside
bar' and watch the big screen with live feeds.
Queen of the slopes
Girls will also get their chance, competing in the girls' Big Air to
see who will be crowned Queen of the slopes. For even more snow action,
check out the 'Jib Fest' snowboard jam taking place on both Saturday
and Sunday.
And don't miss the National
Snowboard Exhibition - a retail area catering for all your freesports
needs from technical snowboard wear to holidays and skateboards. course,
Natives will be there with our full range of supercool hoodys and Ts
available for you to try and buy.
Keen not to be upstaged by the boarders, skaters and BMXers are also
making a big appearance at Board-X. A purpose built streetcourse will
be used for the occasion, along with a midi ramp, with jams taking place
throughout the weekend.
Videos, Xbox and DJs
If you need a break from all the live action,
there's a Video Lounge showing all the latest snowboard, skate and BMX
videos - perfect for sofa surfers who want to stay indoors. The Xbox
gaming area offers you the chance to pit your wits against the rest
of the world, live to the crowds on plasma screens.
The whole event will be supported by a backdrop of music from a host
of London DJs, from a selection of sound systems throughout the site.
