OZ UPDATE: FROM GRAEME MARSH

1 August 2001

"What the snow god giveth, the sun god taketh away"

Hey I'm not complaining !!! I was starting to miss that yellow bright thing!!!! Snow from last week has been eaten away by the past few days mild conditions and once again we're into Spring skiing, although there is at least still some more terrain open with the link between Smiggs and Perisher, Olympic T-Bar and the Ridge Chair at Blue Cow all opening up after the recent snowfalls.

More is forecast for the end of the week with a cold front due to hit Thursday night through Friday and hopefully leaving us some snow !!!

In a weak attempt to save money I haven't been out on the town much this week but this week see's the return of the Blizzard Dance party to the Station Resort and Igloo Dance Party at LJ's.

Meanwhile I'm happy to tell you that the high winds restored 4 new channels to our TV meaning that I can relax evening time with a cuppa and "The Bill" AAAAhhhhhh !!! Unfortunately I can't get to see the sports on SBS so I won't get to watch Ipswich Town in all their glory (Go Tractor Boys !!!) until returning home in October.

News from around Oz has been limited although it does seem like Thredbo is suffering a little more than Perisher, Perisher have also got big plans to further expand things with a new on mountain village and expansion of the snowmaking system (responsible for the only halfpipe in OZ and a double barrelled one at that!!).

So with peak time in full flow things are going well here at Perisher Blue !!!
