OZ UPDATE: FROM LAYDS |
9 July 2001 |
Like I said...it's only a matter of time, and Mother Nature's coughed up the goods!! We had around 30cm since Friday, rain this morning which has nicely turned into snow!! So the whole town's really warmed up now. Lodges are fairly booked out, there are actually queues in the supermarket, people are swarming all over Jindy. Wednesday nights are starting to pick
up (Wednesday being pay day in these parts). As little
money as most people have - work has still been a bit
sparse, but picking up now - they always seem to be
in the pub making the most of it. Thredbo's snowmakers are to be commended - they've been pumping out tons of artificial snow, which has held out really well, with a great coverage on friday flats, snowgums and the supertrail from the top of the Kosciusko Express (used to be called the Crackenback Express) now open also. Icy conditions in the last few weeks has meant ski patrol have been working pretty hard, with many injuries to deal with. Flare runs and fireworks have been kicking of each week Thats it for me, i'm too seedy to be sitting up right now!! Catch up again soon! |
