OZ UPDATE: FROM GRAEME MARSH

8 August 2001

Twister meets Ski Sunday.......

Along with a huge wind today we had continued snowfall to top up our good sized recent dump the snow reports here are telling us we had 25cms in the past 24 hours!!!!

I spent the day out with some level 6 kids and had a BLAST!!!!!! Despite the high winds and lifts on hold we managed to find some awesome skiing with the windblown powder off the trails and the loose on groomed providing some top quality skiing and riding for those who could face the weather.

This weekend saw the "wild winter weekend" with the world famous Dash for Cash and other events happening acroos the resort. For any of you who haven't heard of Dash for Cash it's an anything-goes Downhill/SkierX affair coupled with some running and plenty of carnage
for spectators !!!!

Friday and Saturday were both heaving in town with the spandex clad promo girls from Winfield Ciggy's providing some extra entertainment (I challenge any man in there to describe what was going on at the OTHER end of the bar!!!) to accompany the zany antics of band "Le Club Nerd" at Banjo's !!!

As we approach peak season here things are certainly on the up with everyone's spirits lifted and more lifts opening with the new snow...and it's not over yet with more snow forecast for tomorrow and Friday!!!! Rest assurred conditions really ARE good here at the moment and not a moment too soon !!!!!!

Anyway I'm off to attend to my windblown cheeks with nature's answer to all things...a schooner of Tooheys!!!!!!

Have fun all

Graeme Marsh
