COLIN SLATER'S NZ UPDATE

25 September 2000

OK, so you want snow? We've still got it, loads of it in some places but certainly heaps of it generally!

So it's been a bit windy recently, like 120kms ph in Wellington yesterday but hey, thats spring for you!

Starting in the South, Concrete Peak is looking a bit thin, they've managed to eke out not much snow all season and deserve respect for that, Wanaka fields are still looking good.

Most clud fields will be shutting in the next 2/3 weeks, many commercial fields do too. Mt Hutt is scheduled to open until Labour Weekend at the end of October which is good news, they have _tons_ of snow there.

Up North we have varying reports, Turoa is OK but some people have said its magic others that it's crap - I'm going to check this weekend!

So that's that, Olympic fever has hit OZ and to some degree has hit NZ. It's also sucked a load of tourists away as well which means fields are empty - good or bad news?

Till next time

Colin
