NZ UPDATE - NICK LONIE

Just come down from a great day at the Remarkables. Few cms. of fresh snow all over with the sun blazing most of the day and light winds. Some rocks under the fresh stuff but word is it's better than Coronet Peak.

Checked out Wanaka Big Air the other night. Thousands of folk stacked out the hill-side with a great set-up and line-up. Impressive jumps from a host of good names but the MC's failed to get the crowd going not helped by a poor sound system and dumb blonde with a mic!

Couldn't make the after party in Wanaka as we had to return to Queenstown but judging by the amount of Police etc. making their way over, it must have been going off!! Don't know how it came over on TV though.

Will be checking out the other areas in the next week and may even splash out on some heli-skiing, how frivolous...!!!

For the first time in many years I'm actually skiing powder..... I have knowledge!
