NZ UPDATE

'Here at Mt.Potts we've been working hard to prepare for the upcoming winter season. We have made some changes: We want to be open faster after the storms, and get more runs per day. So do you!!

Our solution is this: We are now helicopter accessed. We fly up in a helicopter from the lodge every morning. We get an extra 2 runs cat skiing or boarding every day. At the end of the day we ski out, and drive back to the lodge....

If you're planning a visit this season please contact Marie-Claire as soon as possible to get your preferred dates.'

OK this is a completely brazen advertising attempt here, but Mount Potts is an amazing ski field - think heli skiing at 1/4 of the cost. This pic is typical...

The terrain is awesome, the lodges are cool and the people are the best. All for about 90 quid a day and that's the heli in in the morning so you get the freshest powder.

This place is about as far away as you get frm civilisation as you can get, it's so cool.
