NZ UPDATE - NIGEL KERR

TEMPERATURES DROP IN CARDRONA

Definitely in to the holiday spirit this week. Weather has been typical awesome July. Cold, calm, clear and sunny on the mountains. Not so nice in the valleys where daytime temperatures have rivalled or even gone lower than those on the mountains with fog and temperature inversions!

Dry packed natural snow over the entire mountain with a current snowbase of between 20-45cm. Over 11km of groomed trails. Off piste the gullies and bowls are providing excellent skiing and boarding. The ridges however are wind affected and unmarked obstacles are out there. 100% Learner, 100% Intermediate and 50% Advanced terrain is open.

Specialist terrain areas open include the International halfpipe and the new Terrain Trail that is providing great entertainment for skiers, boarders and mountain bikers.

So all looking pretty good with great customer feedback on the snow. Road is clear and gritted with chains required in the boot.

Hope to see you soon.

Regards
