NZ UPDATE - CHRIS LOFTUS |
2 August 2001 |
|
The much publicised front that dumped 1.5m+ on Mt Hutt and nearby fields only dropped 20-30 cms on our hills and after a couple of days riding we were back to familiar icy pistes and 'firm spots'. The last seven days have been very hit and miss with The Remarkables giving us it's worst conditions of the season and the rain impacting pretty badly on Coronet Peak. But it's not all bad, the Remarks and Treble Cone are closed today due to poor weather but both are reporting fresh snow, as are Coronet and Cardrona. So it's up early tomorrow and back into it after a forced lay off.

Sorry
to return to a familiar theme but down here in sunny
old Queenstown we once again need more snow to get things
going again and put the fun back into it all.
