is Oz skiing boring?

Just got back from 3 days skiing in Falls Creek.

The rumors are true - the snow and depth are very good but in true Oz fashion it's melting fast lower down and on runs that get the sun all day. Rain was forecast for today and that would be a disaster.

But that sums up OZ skiing. Short runs, boring blacks, expensive passes and usually crap weather. I will be saving my money for Europe or Canada or maybe NZ, but only maybe. It seems to be very quiet at the moment there, rumour has it most people are going to the Olympics and are not spending their money skiing this year so there could be some bargains to be had.

I love my skiing, but I hardly got a fat in Falls and I haven't skied for 6 years. Maybe it was all the grog or maybe i've been too spoilt in France.

But don't let me put tourists off going to OZ. I recommend W.A. outback tours or sailing.You'll have more fun and less expense...
