First in the long rail event was Shawn Ryan, who was the only one who accomplished this testing rail, while the best male snowboarder was Shawn Thompson and best female snowboarder was Semke Hilbink.

It was a warm and windy day in Methven on Saturday, making it a challenge to keep snow from melting as organisers covered ramps with snow in preparation for the event. But by evening temperatures cooled down, and organisers kept dispersing salt on to the snow to keep it from melting.

In total 58 riders took part, including some from the North Island.   Organiser Michael McCloy said said the event would definitely be held again next year.
