The future of the Metro Ski & Snowboard Show has been secured in a management buyout, after it was put up for sale by its parent company dmg world media, it was announced today.

British Invitational ChampsNew company - VOS Media
Taking matters into his own hands, group show director and publisher Damian Norman brought together a consortium of investors, each with plenty of events industry experience, and has headed up a new company called VOS Media. This will take ownership of the Metro Show, Daily Mail Ski & Snowboard magazine and MetroSnow.co.uk, plus other consumer shows under the current Sports and Leisure umbrella, from 19 June.

It’s great news for snowsports fans as it secures the future of what is seen by many as the start of the winter season in the UK. Tim Holmes, show manager for The Metro Ski and Snowboard Show said, “As a small, independent company we’ll have greater freedom to create a show that meets the needs of our exhibitors and visitors alike.

“Coupled with the vast experience of VOS Media’s backers this means the Metro Ski and Snowboard Show will be uniquely placed to support the UK snowsports industry.

“The plan this year is to run as successful a show as we have been for the past three years, continue to introduce lots of new features and in the long term future, look at potentially expanding.”

Natives at the Metro Show"A fantastic opportunity"
Damian Norman added, “To acquire a division that’s been nominated for 12 awards in the last two years is a fantastic opportunity. With the wealth of experience from the directors on board, VOS Media will continue to grow these very successful shows and take them in a new and exciting direction.”
