La Taverne is run by Phillipe and Abdel, two friendly French blokes, both speak good English and can be a very useful point of contact and a friendly face in resort. La Taverne is the only typical French style bar remaining in 1550, old wooden interior, log burning fire and has a games room, great for entertaining the kids or big kids on rainy days. It's located directly opposite the main 1150 bubble lift and piste. It has the only sun terrace in resort so it's usually mobbed at the end of the day. Opening hours are normaly 10am-1am. It's also the cheapest bar in resort and doesn't have the usual Courchevel pretentions. As it's frequented by season workers and French locals it's the best place in 1550 to find work.
